Beckenham Theatre is delighted to announce Open Auditions for Blood Brothers.
The story is a contemporary nature versus nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins Mickey and Eddie, who were separated at birth and one raised in a wealthy family while the other raised in a poor family. The twins’ different backgrounds take them to opposite ends of the social spectrum, one becoming a councillor and the other unemployed and in prison. They both fall in love with the same girl, causing a tear in their friendship and leading to the tragic death of both brothers.
Originally developed as a play with with Merseyside Young People’s Theatre in 1982, Blood Brothers became more famous as a musical, in which many famous leading ladies have starred as Mrs Johnston (Barbara Dickson, Clodagh Rodgers, four of the Nolan sisters, Melanie C, Marti Webb, Carole King and Petula Clark among them). Please note this is not the musical version.
Open Auditions will take place at Beckenham Theatre on:
Tuesday 16 May 2017 @ 8:00pm
Sunday 21 May 2017 @ 12:00pm
The director is also hosting a pre-audition read-through of the play on Sunday 14 May @ 12:00pm for anyone considering auditioning, who would like more information about the play, or has any questions for the director. Please note, attending the read-through does not commit attendees to auditioning, but is a really good opportunity to find out more about the production.
