Children’s Theatre Workshop
25 March @ 10:30 to 12:00
Our award-winning Children’s Theatre is central to everything we do at Beckenham Theatre and is available to children of members to attend. The Children’s Theatre and Youth Group are both fully subscribed but run a waiting list for when places become available. To add your child to the list, or for more information, please contact Emma Berryman on 07516 800778.
Our Children’s Theatre (for children aged 8-14) meets every Saturday morning in term-time, and teaches a vast array of stage skills, from movement and projection, to singing and dancing, through a variety of improvisations, games and other activities.
The Children’s Theatre was first formed in 1948, and has continued to be a vital part of Beckenham Theatre ever since. Our younger members have the opportunity to perform in two dedicated productions each year, timed to coincide with the May and October half terms, and auditions are open to Children’s Theatre and Youth Group attendees, as well as new faces.
Please note that a huge amount of (voluntary) work goes into running the children’s and youth groups, and it is expected that parents of children involved will support the theatre by attending as many shows and social functions as possible, as well as helping out backstage, with costumes or chaperoning duties as necessary.
