All children involved in productions at the theatre must be supervised by a licensed chaperone and we are always seeking new volunteers to ease the burden on our existing group.
The license is obtained from your Borough and the process consists of a CRB/DBS check, a brief interview and a day’s training. The duties of a chaperone include supervising the children in the dressing rooms and backstage, as well as signing them in and out for each performance. While we aim to not ask anyone to have to chaperone more than once for each production, the more people we have licensed the fewer times they will need to be called upon.
Please note that all existing chaperones must repeat the training on an annual basis. In order to continue our youth and children’s productions we rely on this help, so please consider putting yourself forward if you are able.
